Transitioning from a high school student
to a college student has been very changing. In high school it was easy to get
an A. I would sometimes do my homework before class, stay up late, and rarely
study for test and quizzes. As a senior my habits I can say got worst I would
not pay attention as much as I did as a freshman, I was also that student who
was a texter In class. It also didn’t help with having two study halls and
cooking classes were I would sit and talk to my friends and literally do
nothing. Senior year was easy. Coming into college within the first two weeks I
can say I did more reading then I did my whole senior year. Usually with high
school they baby you and get you got of summer mode. Not in college, I already
had homework for the next class. With Inquiry it has helped me learn to:
- · Hunt for a good teacher
- · Not to alienate your professor
- · How to become a deep thinker in college
- · Make sure I notice my “invisible work”
- · Work hard and work smart
- · Not to multitask
- · How to take correct notes
- · Making a successful schedule for planning out your day
- · Time management
- · Managing your goals
I can
say I have taken each of this tips and had applied them to becoming that A student.
But some tips that was not helpful to me that I would kind of seemed pointless
would be to make a to do list everyday I always have any idea of what I need to
do for each day homework and studying. I feel like there’s nothing more
important that I need I have everything such as my books and if I don’t have
something it is usually on my mind till I do what I need to do. From being in
college I am proud of the student I have became school is my top property and
every single homework assignment and all my studying has been my top priority.
